The Graduate Certificate in Digital and Multimedia Journalism allows students in the MS in Digital Content Creation and Strategy (DCCS) program to earn an additional degree by taking 12 credits of journalism-related courses within their DCCS electives. It is also available to students wishing to take it as a stand-alone degree program.
Through four required and elective courses, students will learn to understand modern professional journalistic standards, practices, and storytelling technologies, and get hands-on experience in reporting and producing news stories using video, audio, social media, web / multimedia, data visualization, and more. The goal is to prepare graduate certificate holders for jobs in modern newsrooms, where the more digital and multimedia reporting and producing skills you have, the more valuable you are.
