Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Graduate Certificates
Our certificate program is a post-primary pathway designed for those who are certified and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), have an active Connecticut State license and would like to pursue an additional credential. We provide the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in advanced imaging. This comprehensive program is offered in three tracks: Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Computed Tomography or Women’s Imaging. The program also satisfies the ARRT requirement of 16 hours of structured education for each modality. The certificate program will provide the basic principles, instrumentation, equipment and image development associated with the advanced modality of MRI, CT or Women’s Imaging. The courses encompass didactic components, including all relevant material consistent with the ARRT registry examinations. The 3-credit didactic portion is offered during the fall and summer semesters. Together, the didactic portion and the clinical experience provide a foundation for career growth that prepares graduates for the careers of the future and promotes lifelong learning.
Clinical Component
This 2-credit practicum provides clinical field experience at a variety of imaging facilities, including affiliated hospitals and standalone centers. Students train under experienced radiologic technologists in these specialized areas of the imaging profession. The power to see inside the human body is appreciated through these experiential learning rotations in computed tomography, mammography or MRI.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of previously sequenced programmatic coursework
Offered: Fall and summer semesters
Each certificate in advanced imaging requires a minimum of 5 credits to complete the program.
